Grupa Azoty Polyolefins S.A. produced the first 100,000 tons of polypropylene as part of the commissioning of the installation.

By 15th May Grupa Azoty Polyolefins S.A. produced the first 100,000 tons of polypropylene

This level of production is achieved as part of the commissioning and tests of guaranteed parameters at the PDH and PP installations, as well as at AUX (auxiliary installations) and HST (marine gas terminal).

Polypropylene produced in new installations in Police has passed positive tests and is available for direct sales and distribution. The Company’s product portfolio is successively expanded. The Company’s target portfolio will iinclude over 30 types of polypropylene under the Gryfilen® brand. The introduction of new types of products takes place gradually, in accordance with the planned schedule and after positive product validation, both from the production and processing side with customers. The Maritime Gas Terminal in Police regularly receives deliveries of propane and ethylene. Last week, the Company received its ninth ship with a load of propane – said Wojciech Blew, President Grupa Azoty Polyolefins S.A.

Polypropylene Gryfilen portfolio includes homopolymers and impact and random copolymers in various types adapted to processors needs.

The regular sale already includes :

  • Gryfilen® H02-L and H04-L dedicated to the production of cords and strapping,
  • Gryfilen® H03-N dedicated to the production of rigid packaging by thermoforming technology, also for food contact,
  • Gryfilen® H03-F dedicated to the production of BOPP films.
  • Gryfilen® H12-G designed for injection molding for many applications such as household products, sports and leisure products, toys and thin wall rigid packaging.


Hyundai Engineering Co. Ltd., the General Contractor of the investment under the EPC contract, is responsible for the complex realization of the Polimery Police project. Completion of the project is associated with the achievement and maintenance the Guaranteed Parameters by the General Contractor that are specified in license agreements for installations of propylene (PDH) and polypropylene (PP). Achieving the Guaranteed Parameters is closely related to conducting the Integrity Test of the entire installation.
