By 23rd October Grupa Azoty Polyolefins S.A. produced 200,000 tons of polypropylene. This level of production is achieved as part of guaranteed parameters tests at the Polimery Police installation.
Polypropylene produced in new installations in Police is available for direct sales and distribution. The Company’s product portfolio is successively expanded. The Company’s target portfolio will include over 30 types of polypropylene under the Gryfilen® brand. The introduction of new types of products takes place gradually, in accordance with the planned schedule and after positive product validation, both from the production and processing side with customers. In parallel we are conducting negotiations with Hyundai Engineering regarding an annex to the EPC Agreement, that contains the final approval of the Integrity Test and settlement rules for the Polimery Police Project. The ongoing negotiations don`t affect current production or the sales and delivery process – said Krzysztof Kołodziejczyk, President Grupa Azoty Polyolefins S.A.
Polypropylene Gryfilen® portfolio includes homopolymers and impact and random copolymers in various types adapted to processors needs. In the regular sale are homopolymers with lower MFR. The product offer is expanded about homopolymers and impact copolymers dedicated for injection molding.
The plant produces 700-800 t of polypropylene per day. Logistics processes are being carried out, packaging and distribution of the product is in progress. The installation effectively implements transitions between the production of various types of polypropylene in accordance with the product circle, thus increasing the portfolio of products offered to the market. Sales of Gryfilen® polypropylene is carried out based on contracts with distributors and through direct sales. Production capacity is gradually increased up to the values assumed in the project of 429k tons of propylene per year and 437k tons of polypropylene per year.
Hyundai Engineering Co. Ltd., the General Contractor of the investment under the EPC contract, is responsible for the complex realization of the Polimery Police project. Completion of the project is associated with the achievement and maintenance the Guaranteed Parameters by the General Contractor that are specified in license agreements for installations of propylene (PDH) and polypropylene (PP). Achieving the Guaranteed Parameters is closely related to conducting the Integrity Test of the entire installation.
